ALC-0159 (N,N-dimyristylamide of 2-hydroxyacetic acid) is a widely used liposome-forming compound for in vitro and in vivo transfection of DNA, RNA and other negatively charged molecules. ALC-0159 is a pegylated lipid used in the formation of Lipid Nanoparticles (LNP) or Nanostructured Lipid carriers (NLCs) in the development of mRNA vaccines such as COVID-19 vaccine.
